Street interview and Indonesian milk: Susu

Dear Reader,

sitting in one of the supposedly busiest streets in Jakarta for dinner one night my friend Susan and me understood quickly what the business was referring to. We had barely finished our dinner, when a group of secondary school-kids approached us shyly asking whether we would allow them to interview us for "five minutes". The tender approach and the friendly reservation was kindly appreciated and our mutual "yes, of course" resulted in 6 plus 2 wide smiles. It is so easy to make people happy, why does it sometime come across as something so costly?
Anyway, of course the "5 minutes" where only a phrase, but after some routine questioning about home country, purpose of visit and favourite sights in Jakarta we touched some more important topics of life, like the "Bundesliga" that was playing on the TV behind us.
Overwhelmed with the "thank you" by the happy children, we went looking for some local products in the supermarket around the corner. In order to make perfect use of the little package of brownies we had, we were actually looking for milk which turned out to be called "Susu" in Indonesian. Enough reason to take the second picture with my friend whose nickname is Su, or according to our discovery, "50% milk". Have you ever wondered what your name in another language might mean?
