Manila

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

time flies by and here I am again sharing some impressions about the capital of the Philippines from my desk in the rainy city of Solingen, home, sweet home :-) Alongside with some excuses for not posting regularly...
Manila they say is not exactly the angles' home... not far from the truth considering my first day experience. Amidst crowded street and poor beggars, especially working children dominated the first contaminated impressions. Yet, food was good and the horse-ride you are witnessing quite cheap.
The first picture shows parts of "intramuros", the old Hispanic-clerical enclave that was meant to protect the upper classes from the Moloch developing in its immediate neighborhood. The other pictures show the rather poor sights of downtown Manila from the back of a horse-carrigare with an almost teethless horseman.

More teeth to show in the next days,

your Mat
