Liebe Familie und Freunde,

schön, dass es Euch gibt und dass Ihr meine Erfahrungen mit mir teilt.
Nach einer ereignissarmen Flugreise mit anfänglich 20kg Übergepäck bin ich gut in Singapur angekommen. Noch am Ankunftstag konnte ich mein kleines Zimmer auf dem Gelände der Uni beziehen und wohne seitdem hier:

Wer mein Zimmer in St.Gallen klein fand, wird hier echte Klaustrophobie erfahren, denn 12m² sind wirklich recht wenig.



Dafür schaue ich aber aus dem 5. Stock ins Grüne und habe mein eigenes kleines Reich mit privatem Bad.

Das erste Bild zeigt den Blick von der Eingangstür ins Zimmer. Die Gegenstände auf den zweiten beiden Bildern sehe ich derzeit noch recht wenig.



























Dafür bin ich mindestens drei Mal täglich unter der Dusche um mich abzukühlen, denn eine Klimaanlage fehlt in meinem Zimmer leider gänzlich.
















Meine kleine Küche könnt Ihr links bewundern. Ausser einem Mini-Kühlschrank gibt es leider derzeit nur Besteck und Gläser. Ich bin froh, dass die Kantinen auf dem Campus so lecker und preiswert sind.

Da Sonntags auf dem Campus allerdings keine der ca. 15 Kantinen offen hat, werden wir uns wohl bald in unserer kleinen Gruppe von Freunden auf den Weg machen um uns wieder ein feines und günstiges Restaurant in der Stadt zu suchen.

Dear family and friends,

thanks for sharing my first Asian experiences with me. After a boring flight with 20 kg overweight to start with, I have reached Singapore well. Still on the arrival day I could move into my small room on the area of the university and since then live here:

Those of you who have found my room in St. Gallen small can discover real claustrophobia here, because 12 m² are surely not much more than a shoebox. However, I enjoy a nice view from the 5th floor into the countryside and have my own small empire with private bathroom.
The first picture shows the view from the front door into the room.
I see the objects in the second and third pictures still only on rare occurances. I guess that will change soon enough. For it is quite warm and humid here, I had to learn to love to shower at least thrice per day. Air-conditioning would be a major improvement.
You can admire my small kitchen on the left. Unfortunately, except a mini-fridge there is only cutlery and glasses. I am glad that the canteens on the campus are tasty and rather affordable. Because on Sunday none of approx. 15 canteens are open, we will probably soon go out to eat in our small group of friends.
