Saigon first day

Lieber Leser,

wohlbehalten aus dem Urlaub zurückgekehrt hoffe ich in den nächsten Tagen einen kleinen Überblick über meine Weihnachts- und Neujahrsreise mit ein paar schönen Bildern dekoriert zu präsentieren.
Nach der Ankunft in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC), was von allen Einwohnern immer noch Saigon genannt wird, haben meine Studienkollegin Susan und ich in der erste Runde Sightseeing in der Altstadt die "Notre Dame" Kathedrale und des "People Committee Buildings" erkundet. Auf dem Weg zu unserem Hostel sind wir an vielen Mopeds vorbei durch die bunt beleuchteten Strassen geschlendert. In der Warteschlange für eines der im Lonely Planet Reiseführer gelobten Restaurants haben wir zwei spanische Pharmazieprofessoren getroffen. Zusammen haben wir einen lustigen kulinarischen Abend genossen.

more pictures that I still owe you

Dear friends,

the wonderful underwaterworld is a mysterious place. The small little crabs on the top left cleaned my mouth for free underwater, quite tickling my tongue and my non-existing wisdom teeth. The picture on the top right holds a surprise as well as the one on the lower right for the ones that can see it :-) Hint: Both show seahorses, red/white and black. The low left picture again shows the biggest fish I have seen in my extraordinary happy and (still short) life.

Hope you have had some great moments in 2008 as well.

X-mas Party at Staff Club 3

Liebe Familie und Freunde,

nach den ersten Eindrücken unserer Weihnachtsfeier im Kreise der MBA Studenten, schicke ich euch nachträglich noch die Bilder von unserem Ballon-Turmbau-Wettbewerb. Die Aufgabe: Baue einen möglichst hohen, freistehenden Turm aus 50 Ballons und einer Rolle Tesa-Film innerhalb von 20 min. Das Ergebnis: tieferer Blutspiegel im Alkohol dank reichlichem Gepuste; 1,35m Gewinnhöhe, viel Lärm, Lachen und Kreativität (Billard-Cue als stabilisierendes Center, das später wieder rausgenommen werden musste; Tesa von der Decke um Schwankungen zu vermeiden, ebenfalls illegal :-(
Mit der richtigen Anleitung feiern alle Nationen lustig zusammen.

Dear friends and family,

after a much too long picture free blogging experience, I shall try to make up for the lack of shared pictures with this wonderful shot of the happy little Santas and Elves.
Tomorrow I need to bring some points home for "Accounting for Decision Making and Control (ADMC)". Our biggest concern seems to be that we overlooked something critical, because the entire range of topics is so straight forward.


Still, could always use some helpful thoughts and "pressed thumbs".
